Resentment – strange word to use when talking about Diversity training or is it?

Most people want to crack on with their day while at work and training or Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is tacked onto an already stressful or possibly a boring role.

Diversity training in my previous role was focussed on race and ethnicity and there was usually at least one person to voice reservations about the content and the intent of my sessions. Why was it relevant? Did we need to change?

I experience a similar resistance to Neurodiversity training. Arguments like; aren’t we all a little bit Neurodiverse? All brains are unique so what’s the big deal? People have to learn to fit in? These are ways of phrasing a similar sentiment. Why? Why do we have to change and adapt? Why are some people seen as needing greater advantages than others?
